Angels place Nelson on 15-day disabled list

St. Petersburg, Fla. • The Los Angeles Angels have placed third baseman Chris Nelson on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring and recalled infielder Luis Jimenez from Triple-A Salt Lake.
The moves were announced before Thursday's game at Tampa Bay.
Nelson was hurt while running out a grounder in the seventh inning of Wednesday night's 4-1 loss to the Rays.
Jimenez, in his second stint with the Angels this season, started at third on Thursday.
