BYU and Virginia kick off in less than a half-hour here at steamy Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, and already there's some potential bad news for the Cougars.

Star receiver Cody Hoffman apparently tweaked a hamstring in practice recently, and most likely will not play today.

Hoffman went through warm-up drills with the team before the game, but was moving gingerly at times and did not go through reps with the first-team offense.

BYU officials say Hoffman will be a game-time decision, along with defensive back Mike Hague, who also has hamstring issues.

If Hoffman can't go, look for Mitch Mathews to star at the wide receiver spot. Mathews had an impressive fall camp, but is obviously nowhere near Hoffman's caliber.

Temperature at kickoff will be in the high-80s, and humidity is about 74 percent.
