Icona Pop's 'I Love It' and more in Utah soon

Spotlight show • Swedish electro-pop group Icona Pop is responsible for one of 2013's biggest hits, the ubiquitous and instantly infectious single "I Love It," Icona Pop is the collaboration betwwen Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, with Hjelt calling Jawo her musical "soul mate" in an interview with The Tribune. "We definitely have our differences," Hjelt said. "If I'm tiredm she takes control, and vice versa ... It feels like we've become one person. It's a good balance." The two met at Stockholm party in 2009 and the day after they met, Hjelt said, they "sat down and started writing songs," inspired by a mutual love of Boyz II Men and "lots of girl-power bands." Of course, "the Spice Girls were huge." Hjelt was so proud of the dance music they have created. "I'm so happy that people are crazy for something weird," she said. "It's punky with a pop vibe ... The pop revolution is here."
