The Downtown Alliance is advising visitors to downtown to plan ahead and prepare for high traffic and parking demand during a weekend with plenty of high-profile, well-attended events happening in and around the downtown area.

Public transit is recommended for travel to and within downtown, since there are only about 30,000 parking spaces in downtown, according to the Alliance. UTA will be expanding the number of trains as well as increasing frequency at targeted times throughout downtown.

Note: Ticket holders for the University of Utah and Weber State football game at Rice-Eccles Stadium can use all UTA services (except Paratransit) free of charge.

Here's the Downtown Alliance's list of downtown events, along with the expected attendance, for this coming weekend:

Comic Con (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) 45,000

Twilight Concert with MGMT (Thursday) 40,000
