Hope & Tim

Spotlight show • Hope and Tim Glenn's daughter was born less than a year ago, but the Utah acoustic musicians still managed to record a new CD. The release party is Saturday at Urban Lounge. Parenthood has become one of their inspirations. "It's tough to not be inspired by the chubby-cheeked little girl that relies on me for food on a daily basis," said Tim, who grew up in Salt Lake and recently finished a master's degree in U.S. environmental history at the University of Utah. Hope is originally from south Texas and spent her college years at the University of Texas in Austin hobnobbing with the local musicians. Considered the duo's first proper album, it was recorded with the help of a successful Kickstarter campaign that netted $3,565 — $565 over their goal. Two backers who pledged more than $250 won a performance from Hope & Tim in their living rooms. Michael Gross & the Statuettes are also on the bill.
