Unfair to West

As a junior in the International Baccalaureate program at West High School, it's hard for me to not respond to people bashing the academic level of my school. I understand that AP/IB students do not make up the majority, but disregarding us in this "comprehensive" evaluation and claiming that the program we participate in is "a beautiful paint job covering up some pretty big problems" demonstrates a huge misconception about the true academic level of West High and its dedicated staff.

In this "comprehensive" evaluation, it's clear that facts such as five now-graduated seniors received perfect 36s on their ACT, had zero effect and put our school at an F level.

But beyond this disregard for the IB program, the grade that West received seems to be blamed on the administration, the same administration that tries so hard to get all of the students to take their tests, that sends hand-written postcards to students who have won an award, and that tries to attend all sporting events possible.

Giving an F to an A-plus student body and administration creates a completely wrong image of the school and what it stands for.
