There is a lot of interest in the LDS Church's recent release of founder Joseph Smith's documents. The question why these documents were not released for a couple hundred years may be even more interesting.

Does anybody remember Mark Hofmann's forgery-murder-blackmail case in 1985? The LDS Church was buying his unflattering forgeries so that it could bury them.
