The Home Depot on Sept. 24 will launch Redbeacon throughout the greater Salt Lake City area to help homeowners with remodeling projects.

Redbeacon, a Home Depot subsidiary, is a free online, mobile and in-store service that connects consumers with pre-screened, qualified home-improvement pros.

Consumers answer a few questions about their home needs, and Redbeacon applies its proprietary technology to match the request with up to four qualified local contractors. These matched pros then submit an estimate for the consumer to review and compare against the Redbeacon Price Estimator tool before booking online appointments.

Redbeacon's consumer protection is two-fold: all pros in its local networks are background-checked and pre-screened. And once the work is done, consumers have the protection of the Redbeacon guarantee that the subsidiary will pay up to $1,000 to make sure customers are satisfied.
