A teenage boy who plummeted 30 feet from Stewart Falls in Utah County remained in critical condition Thursday.

The 13-year-old boy fell Wednesday about 5:50 p.m. from the cliffs near the waterfall.

Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Eldon Packer said Thursday the boy was alive but remained hospitalized. He suffered a "deep laceration" to the side of his head and injuries to his elbow and knee.

The boy reportedly was in the area with family. He was climbing on the slick rock around Stewart Falls — which is located in the mountains near Sundance — when he fell. A medical helicopter flew the boy to Primary Children's Medical Center.
