A fire in Kamas Thursday morning burned a barn and some hay before crews managed to put it out.
A Summit County dispatcher said the fire began about 6:05 a.m. It burned a "barn full of hay" but did not threaten other buildings. The fire was mostly extinguished by 8:50 a.m., the dispatcher said.
According to the Summit Wildfires Twitter feed, the fire may have been sparked by lightning. It reportedly burned 200 tons of hay. The barn was a total loss.
