Swallow expense

Attorney General John Swallow's alleged inappropriate and shady behavior is now going to cost us, the taxpayers, somewhere between $500,000 and $3 million for an independent law firm (from out of state) to investigate him ("Lead lawyer in Swallow probe will cost Utah $740 an hour," Tribune, Sept. 7).
How can we benefit from this expensive nonsense? Swallow should step down. The potential millions of dollars can be put to better use. Education or welfare programs, for example.
