The Utah State Courts is planning a Sept. 17 program at the Scott M. Matheson Courthouse in Salt Lake City to recognize the 226th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution.

The Constitution guides American society in law and political culture, and is the oldest written national constitution in continuous use.

Following a program that will include the West High School ROTC Color Guard and the National Anthem sung by Park City High School Student Kate Smith, three judges will present a lesson plan to students from West High School and Pacific Heritage Academy as part of the Utah State Bar's Civics Education Program.
