Seattle • The Sounders have shown all the fury so far.
In a showdown between the league's top two teams, Seattle has been in control from the very beginning. Seattle scored on a third-minute goal from Obafemi Martins and later added to it with Lamar Neagle hitting home his eighth of the season to take a 2-0 lead over Real Salt Lake into the locker room.
Seattle's Andy Rose chased down a ball behind the RSL back line and crossed it to Martins, who scored easily and followed up the goal with a back flip as the crowd of 50,000-plus at CenturyLink Field roared with approval.
After Nick Rimando made a sprawling save of a Zach Scott header, RSL appeared to have weathered the storm. Salt Lake forward Joao Plata even had a chance to tie things up, stealing the ball of a Sounder's foot but shooting just wide left of the post.
Seattle would double its lead in the 38th minute, when DeAndre Yedlin took advantage off a wide open space down the right side and crossed to Neagle for the goal.
