Utah forecast: Mostly sunny skies Monday, but rain returns Tuesday to northern Utah

Monday is expected to be a nice day across most of Utah.

After a week of flash flood watches and warnings and flooding in parts of the state, the forecast of "mostly sunny" will probably come as a relief for some.

In Salt Lake City, expect mostly sunny skies with a high of 88, according to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City.

On Tuesday, the possibility of storms returns with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms during the day. But those northern Utah storms will clear out by Wednesday, leaving sunny skies in their wake through Friday.

In southern Utah though, skies are expected to be sunny all week.

Monday's air quality was expected to be moderate, but still earned a "green" rating from the Utah Department of Environmental Quality.

Salt Lake City's high temperature for Monday is set at 88 degrees and 87 on Tuesday; Ogden looked for 85 and 86 degrees; Provo 86 and 87; Logan 84 and 82; Wendover 84 and 87; Duchesne 76 and 77; Cedar City 83 and 81; St. George 95 and 96; and Moab 85 and 87 degrees.
