Motorcyclist in critical condition after I-15 crash near Payson

A motorcyclist was in critical condition Wednesday night after crashing in a construction area of Interstate 15 in Utah County.
The driver was traveling between Spanish Fork and Payson about 6:40 p.m. when the front tire of his motorcycle caught the lip of the road where the surface had been milled to lay new asphalt, troopers wrote in a press statement. The rider lost control and came off the motorcycle, which slid off the shoulder, troopers wrote.
The man was wearing a helmet but suffered injuries to his face.
He was taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center with critical injuries.
