Summer doesn't officially end for three more days, and Mother Nature seems to be making one last push to make sure you know it.
Forecasters expect an almost perfect, mild day Thursday along the Wasatch Front, with high temperatures near 70 degrees, clear skies and gentle breezes. However, Friday and Saturday temperatures should rise, peaking in the mid 80s along Utah's most populous corridor.
The National Weather Service expects temperatures to fall back into the mid 60s by Sunday, just in time for the first day of fall.
Anyone wanting to hang onto summer a little longer would be wise to head south. The NWS expects temperatures in the St. George area to stay at or above 90 degrees through Saturday. Next week also should be warm in southern Utah, with highs in the 80s.
The Utah Division of Air quality predicts "green" conditions across the state through the remainder of the work week.
According to the NWS, Salt Lake City should see a high temperature of 71 degrees Thursday and 83 degrees Friday; Provo 73 degrees and 83 degrees, respectively; Ogden 68 and 79; St. George 90 and 93; Park City 63 and 73; Duchesne 67 and 71; Moab 78 and 85; and Wendover 67 and 76.
