A Helper woman said she was raped by a man who knocked on her door and posed as a construction worker needing information.

The man on Monday allegedly went to the woman's house, near Canyon and Duchesne streets, while wearing a green colored construction vest and a white hard hat, police wrote in a press release Tuesday.

The woman said he asked her a construction-related question before pulling a knife on her and raping her, police wrote.

She described the man as Latino, between 30 and 40 years old, and of "chunky" build at a height of 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7.

"Please be aware that we do have several construction projects and workers in the Helper area who are doing legitimate work," police wrote. "However, if you see anything suspicious or out of place, please contact us immediately."
