To celebrate its inaugural flight on Thursday between Provo and Los Angeles International Airport, Allegiant Air is offering $49 fares for that route as an introductory offer.

Fares are one-way and are not available on all flights. Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 3 for travel by April 29. They may be booked on Allegiant.com.

"We are pleased to bring another affordable and convenient travel option to the residents of Provo," said Andrew C. Levy, Allegiant Travel Company President. It will offer two such flights a week, and also flies from Provo to Phoenix and Oakland.

"A flight to Los Angeles has been on my wish list for a very long time," Provo Mayor John Curtis said. "It is exciting to see this wish become reality. I am confident residents and members of the community will enjoy the new service, which brings tons of value to Provo."
