Provo man sues trampoline gym over 'shattered' leg

A Provo man claims his leg bones were "shattered" at a local trampoline gym when he tried to jump to a nearby foam pit but landed on the adjacent floor instead.

The man is suing the gym, claiming that they left a space of flooring between the edge of the trampoline and the beginning of the foam pit. That's where the man landed during a visit in September 2010, according to the lawsuit.

The concrete floor was covered with a thin pad and carpet, which "hid the dangerous condition," the plaintiff alleged. There was no notice or warning, even though the foam pit and trampoline were arranged together to encourage users to jump from one to the other, the lawsuit states.

The lawsuit does not indicate how wide the space was.

The plaintiff is seeking at least $300,000.
