With the U.S. Open Cup final just a few days away, Real Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis is rolling out a second-team lineup today in Vancouver, giving his usual starters some extra rest.

Jeff Attinella will be in goal in place of Nick Rimando.

Yordany Alvarez will be in Kyle Beckerman's usual spot.

In all, Kreis has made 10 changes to his starting lineup of a week ago.

"We could also spin it the other way and say perhaps that allows us to play a very fresh and hungry team [in Vancouver]," Kreis said this week as he considered what kind of lineup he would put on the turf at BC Place this afternoon.

A win on Tuesday would put RSL into the CONCACAF Champions League.

But Salt Lake still needs points in its push for the MLS playoffs.

"Our playoff lives aren't secure," Kreis said. "I don't feel like if we sit where we're at right now we're going to make the playoffs. We need points and we need them in the worst way."

With just four games left in regular season, can RSL's second tier get the job done?
