State colleges: Utah State beats UNLV in women's soccer

Jennifer Flynn scored a breakaway goal in the 71st minute to lift the Utah State women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over UNLV in a Mountain West Conference game Sunday in Las Vegas.

UNLV (6-4-2, 1-1) stunned the Aggies with Jenn Wolfe's goal in the first minute, but Jayne Robinson scored the equalizer in the 30th minute for USU (5-4-2, 1-1) off a corner kick from Jessica Brooksby. The goal was the first for USU since Sept. 7.

Utah Valley 5, Grand Canyon 3 • In Phoenix, the Wolverines scored three second-half goals to break open a game that was tied 2-2 at halftime and claim the Western Athletic Conference victory. Natalie Baker scored two goals for UVU (5-5-0, 3-0-0 WAC), and Haley Curtis had a pair of assists.
