Everybody seems to think that the Republicans will be the big losers if they precipitate a government shutdown through their intransigence on the current budget proposal and ACA.
Considering that Congress has the most powerful influence over the economy of all government bodies including the Fed and the SEC doesn't it force us to ask who will profit from the looming shutdown? Who will be the big winners?
I wonder how many members of Congress, of both parties, have taken short positions in the stock market and have advised their cronies to do likewise.
