The University of Colorado has added a game against Charleston Southern on Oct. 19 to replace the Sept. 14 Fresno State football game that was scuttled because of flooding.

Fresno State and Colorado officials couldn't come up with a makeup date this season and will discuss options in future seasons. The Buffaloes already are scheduled to host the Bulldogs in 2019.

Colorado AD Rick George contacted almost three dozen schools, both FBS and FCS, to find an opponent on Oct. 19. FCS power Charleston Southern (5-0) received an NCAA waiver allowing the Buccaneers a 13th game, and Colorado received an NCAA waiver to be bowl eligible if it gets six wins this season but two are against lower-tier teams. The Buffs (2-1) beat FCS school Central Arkansas on Sept. 7.

• Connecticut football coach Paul Pasqualoni was fired Monday, with his team 0-4 and coming off a 41-12 loss at Buffalo. Athletic director Warde Manuel announced the dismissal. Pasqualoni, in his third season at UConn, finishes with a 10-18 record. Offensive coordinator T.J. Weist will take over as interim head coach.

The 64-year-old Pasqualoni was in his 43rd year as a coach, but this was his first head coaching job since being fired by Syracuse in 2004.
