Driver dies when car rear-ends truck near Utah-Idaho state line

An Idaho man died near the Utah-Idaho border after rear-ending a farm truck Monday on U.S. Highway 91.

The truck, which was carrying grain, had slowed to a stop in the left lane to turn left into a pasture, troopers wrote. A passenger car driven by 37-year-old Alan B. Short rear-ended the truck while it was stopped. Short, of Preston, Idaho, died at the scene, troopers wrote. The 16-year-old driver of the truck was not injured. No passengers were in either vehicle.
