A memorial bike ride will pay tribute to Utah corrections officer Marvell Smith and raise funds for his family.

Smith died Sept. 18 when his motorcycle collided with a sewer truck in Riverton.

Motorcyclists are invited to gather at 11 a.m. Oct. 5 for the "Vell's Angels" ride at Cycle Gear, 78 E. 11400 South in Draper.

The group will ride to Utah Lake, arriving by noon.

Then, at 2 p.m., a raffle and auction will take place at Cycle Gear.

Cars may accompany motorcycles on the ride.

Organizers are requesting a donation of at least $20, payable in cash or via Paypal at Youcaring.com/vellsangels.
