Regarding "Huntsman says government shutdown will hurt GOP," so what? Why should we care what Huntsman says? More important, it is sad that a newspaper would be writing about someone's opinion when it should be the job of the newspaper to inform who is at fault.
To summarize, the president ran on reducing the deficit. It is higher than ever. He likes to blame the GOP, but when he had a majority in both houses, he and the Democrats could not get together to pass a budget. Currently, there is no serious plan by this president to stop the ongoing record government spending. So how come the newspapers are failing to inform people of who is to blame for the shutdown?
During my adult life, the GOP has always been blamed for shutdowns, (or possible shutdowns), but the Democrats have been in control of the presidency, the senate, and/or the House. Am I to believe that the Democrats just happen to be there, but responsible for nothing? Why send them to Washington, if that is the case?
