Cache County sheriff's deputies will grow facial hair this month to help fight domestic violence.
For a $30 donation, deputies will be issued a beard permit, which will allow them to grow facial hair for the month of October. The grooming standards for the Cache County Sheriff's Office do not allow for deputies to have facial hair, other than a moustache.
All proceeds will be donated to the Community Abuse Prevention Services Agency (CAPSA) in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The fundraiser is sponsored by the Cache County Deputies' Association.
Association vice-president Jared Fitzgerald said in a press release, "As deputies, we deal with the victims and offenders of domestic violence. This fundraiser gives us an opportunity to show our support for CAPSA and take a stand against domestic violence."
CAPSA teaches a Domestic Violence Awareness class to inmates at the Cache County Jail three times a week.
