Utah man charged with pushing a man out a window

A Salt Lake City man faces an attempted murder charge for allegedly throwing a man from a third-story window in Ogden.

The 44-year-old was charged in Ogden's 2nd District Court on Friday with attempted murder and aggravated burglary charges. Both are first-degree felonies that carry a potential life sentence, if he is convicted.

On Sept. 5, a witness told police that she saw him go to the victim's apartment and made a comment to the witness that "if there's a lot of commotions (sic) don't worry about it," it was just him stabbing the victim and throwing him out the window, according to an affidavit filed in court.

Thirty seconds later, the victim fell to the ground from his third-story window. The witness tended to the victim and watched the suspect emerge from the apartment saying to her that he "didn't push him, he fell," the affidavit adds.

The victim gave a statement consistent with the witness', saying he was pushed from the window, according to the affidavit.

The defendant's initial court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
