Here are real issues of shutdown

Anyone else wondering why the WWII memorial being blocked off is receiving so much press, and the shut down of federally funded preschools isn't? How about the fact that the FDA is working with a skeleton crew and the typical food monitoring will be greatly decreased? Or that the CDC will greatly reduce their monitoring of the influenza season, which is upon us? Or how about all the visitors to our National Parks in Utah being turned away or having to leave their camping sites?

The short fences at the WWII monument had an easy fix. Just move them out of the way, which is what some politicians did for a bit of publicity (by the way, the WWII monument was not the only monument with those barricades). Finding money to pay preschool personnel, CDC personnel, and FDA monitors is the hard task at hand.
