Dropping overnight temperatures and icy breezes were expected to bring frost to the valleys Tuesday and snow to Utah's mountains by late Wednesday.

The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook covering the western two thirds of Utah. Winds building to 25 mph and gusting in places well beyond that were to usher in the storm system on Tuesday. By Wednesday night, snowfall was expect to accumulate in all the state's mountains at 7,000 feet elevation and above.

Weather preceding the storm system will be breezy but warm. Temperatures along the Wasatch Front on Tuesday were expected to reach highs in the upper 60s, down from Monday's highs. Overnight lows were to be in the upper 30s and low 40s.

Southern Utahns looked to bask in the mid-80s during Monday and Tuesday with overnight lows in the low 50s.

The Utah Division of Air Quality graded the entire state's breathability as in the "Green," or healthy zone.

The Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website rated only sagebrush, at "very high," and mold, at "moderate," on its pollen index.

Salt Lake City's high temperature on Tuesday was pegged at 66 degrees, down from Monday's 72; Ogden looked for 64 and 71, respectively; Provo 70 and 76; Logan 63 and 73; Wendover 62 and 61; Duchesne 68 and 60; Cedar City 69 and 73; and St. George 82 and 81.
