Vast metropolitan areas of Utah are out of compliance with federal air quality standards, so state officials have come up with a plan to clean up the air. They're targeting wood burning, vehicle emissions and refinery pollution in an exhaustive five-year proposal to cut particulate pollution and they're holding hearings this week to get public input.

But will the plan sweep the air clean enough and what will it cost?

On Tuesday at 12:15 p.m., Division of Air Quality director Bryce Bird and Brian Moench of Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment join Jennifer Napier-Pearce to discuss the proposed standards and what's at stake for Utahns.
