An Ogden couple were expected to make full recoveries after being wounded when a handgun accidentally discharged inside their home.
Ogden Police Lt. Steve Zaccardi said a 67-year-old man suffered a left index finger injury and the man's wife, 56, sustained wound to her upper left leg when the .45-caliber pistol went off about 2 a.m. Tuesday.
The man, not knowing the firearm contained a live round, was cleaning the weapon and had racked the slide when it went off.
Police and paramedics responded to the scene, a home located in the 1100 block of Maxfield Drive, and transported the couple to McKay Dee Hospital Center for treatment.
