Wednesday movie: Tight thrills in 'Saratov Approach'

The made-in-Utah thriller "The Saratov Approach" (opening today in area theaters) is a nice surprise: A low-budget drama that holds up alongside the Hollywood product.

Writer-director Garrett Batty tells of a true 1998 incident, when two LDS missionaries (Corbin Allred and Maclain Nelson) were kidnapped in Russia. The drama neatly details the fearful experience of captivity, and the anxious waiting by the missionaries' families back in the States.
