Utah had the 11th highest rate of home foreclosure activity in the nation in the third quarter of this year.
RealtyTrac, a company that compiles real estate data, said Utah's foreclosure activity increased 29.2 percent in the third quarter that ended Sept. 30 over the same period last year.
The state had 1 in every 285 housing units in some state of foreclosure, RealtyTrac said Tuesday.
Florida showed the highest rate of foreclosure activity in the nation in the third quarter, 1 in every 126 units. Nevada was second with 1 in every 128 units.
For the month of September, Utah was ranked 10th in the nation, with 1 in every 839 units the object of a legal foreclosure notice or activity. That was an increase of 6.45 percent over September of 2012.
