Driver killed in Ogden crash

A driver died Thursday in Ogden after he ran a red light and collided with a pickup truck.
The man, 54, was driving a Geo Metro east on 31st Street near Wall Avenue about 5:45 p.m., when the car swerved to avoid other eastbound vehicles that were stopped at traffic light, said Ogden police Lt. Tim Scott. Witnesses reported that the Metro then drove through the red light and into the intersection, Scott said.
A southbound pickup truck crashed into the Metro, Scott said.
The driver of the Metro was taken to a hospital, where he died, Scott said. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
Police were not releasing the name of the victim pending family notification, Scott said.
