Video shows two trains hitting car after run from Utah police

A 29-year-old woman is expected to survive after driving under some railroad crossing arms and colliding with not one, but two trains in Woods Cross on Sunday.

The YouTube video, originating with the Woods Cross police department, offers a glimpse of the incident from the dashboard camera of an officer's vehicle. Woods Cross Detective Adam Osoro said officers were responding to a domestic violence call when they spotted a vehicle believed to have been involved and tried to stop it, but it sped off.

When the vehicle reached 2600 South and 1050 West moments later, the driver proceeded under the crossing arms and collided with the side of a southbound train going through the intersection, Osoro said. The impact then bounced the vehicle onto another track.

As officers tried to get the pinned woman out, a second southbound train arrived about 30 seconds later and struck the vehicle, forcing the officers to leap out of the way to avoid being struck too, Osoro said.
