A 20-year-old woman died Friday evening after a car accident in Ogden.

Ogden police were called to 3463 Airport Road around 11:20 p.m. Friday, according to police, on a report of a single vehicle accident.

When police arrived, they found a black Mazda 3 off the roadway with "heavy damage," according to a news release. Two people, the 24-year-old male driver and the 20-year-old woman, were found near the vehicle.

Police believe the Mazda was headed north on the road when the driver lost control on a curve, went off the roadway and struck a parked trailer.

After the accident, the woman was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated from her car, according to police. She died from her injuries. The driver was taken to a local hospital with a possible broken leg.

Neither the driver nor the passenger were identified by police Saturday morning. Police believe speed and alcohol may have played a role in the accident.
