State colleges: BYU sweeps Gonzaga

BYU junior Hannah Robinson had 12 kills, seven blocks and two aces to lead the Cougars to a sweep (25-20, 25-14, 25-17) Saturday over Gonzaga in Spokane, Wash.

The Cougars — still the only unbeaten team in West Coast Conference play — also got a career-high 12 total blocks from freshman Whitney Young.

Utah St. 3, Nevada 0 • The Aggies swept Nevada on Saturday in Reno, 25-23, 25-19, 25-13, to improve to 12-7 overall and 5-3 in Mountain West play. Junior outside hitter Rachel Orr led Utah State with 11 kills and 10 digs.

SLCC 3, Snow 2 • The Bruins stayed atop the Scenic West standings in Salt Lake City, fending off the Badgers 25-16, 21-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-8. Bruins freshman outside hitter Carol Grasso had 20 digs and a match-high 17 kills, and outside hitter Bailee Kendall added 15 kills.

UVU 3, New Mexico St. 0 • In Orem, the Wolverines swept the Aggies 25-16, 25-23, 25-18 on Saturday night. Utah Valley got a career-high 13 kills from outside hitter Cassie Wahlin to improve to 13-11 overall and 7-2 in WAC play.

Women's soccer

BYU 2, LMU 0 • In Provo, the Cougars got second-half goals from Cloee Colohan and Ella Johnson to beat Loyola Marymount.

Weber St. 3, Sacramento St. 0 • In Ogden, the Wildcats' Mackenzie Harrison scored to break a 1-1 tie in the 50th minute, and added her second goal seven minutes later. Mackenzie Day scored Weber State's lone first-half goal.
