The Utah Republican Party will hold a special caucus Nov. 7 to select a replacement for Spencer Cox, who resigned his House District 58 seat to become Utah's lieutenant governor.

The 7 p.m. meeting will be held in the City Council chambers in Mount Pleasant, a release from the party said Monday. State delegates from House District 58, which covers portions of Sanpete and Juab counties, will pick the new representative.

Cox was sworn in Wednesday as Gov. Gary Herbert's replacement for Greg Bell, who resigned as lieutenant governor citing financial reasons and last week announced he would be leading the Utah Hospital Association.

To run for Cox's seat, a registered Republican living in the district must submit a declaration of candidacy by Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. Declarations may be submitted by:

• Letter to Utah Republican Party, 117 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, 84111

• Email to jeff@utgop,org, or

• By calling 801-533-9777.
