More than a dozen people were left without their homes early Thursday after fire broke out in a Logan four-plex apartment complex.

Public safety dispatchers say the blaze, which was reported just after midnight near 400 West and 1000 North, affected four families and caused significant damage to the attics and back walls of the units.

In all, eight adults and five children were reportedly evacuated by Logan firefighters. No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross was assisting the families with food, clothing and shelter.

The cause of the fire was yet to be determined by investigators.
