A woman had to spend Saturday night on Mount Timpanogos after she became stranded while hiking.

A Utah County Sheriff's dispatcher said the woman became stuck on the mountain Saturday. Search and rescue crews deployed to her position, but efforts to bring her down were called off due to darkness. The dispatcher said at about 11 p.m. that crews were in contact with the woman and the rescue effort would resume Sunday morning.

The search comes at the end of a busy day for rescue crews along the Wasatch Front. In Salt Lake County, Unified Police crews helped three people off two different mountains Saturday. And in Davis County, sheriff's personnel rescued a 52-year-old man near Fernwood Park.

The Salt Lake Tribune will update this story when more information becomes available.
