West Valley City police wants the public's help in finding a man who sexually assaulted a woman in a Burger King bathroom.

Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, employees in a Burger King near 3500 S. 5600 West heard a woman screaming from the bathrooms. The 20-year-old woman had apparently gone into the bathroom while her friends went through the drive-thru, despite the lobby of the fast-food restaurant being closed, according to a police news release.

But a man followed her into the bathroom, overpowered her and physically and sexually assaulted her, according to the release. After an employee and one of the victim's friends interrupted the alleged attack, the man ran, the release adds.

He was described as white or Hispanic, with dark hair, standing about 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall and weighing about 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt under a dark jacket, as well as dark blue jeans. He may have scratches on his face.

Anyone who can help the police identify him is asked to call 801-840-4000.
