Its only autumn and yet our air already looks like we're well on our way to inversion season. I know there are many other sources of pollution in the valley but I'd like to encourage everyone to try to reduce their car emissions as we approach the winter months.
Ride your bike to work or take the bus or TRAX if you live too far away. If UTA's service is poor in your area, as it inevitably tends to be, try to find neighbors to carpool with. When possible, try to combine trips when you're out running errands and don't leave your car idling if you're stopped for more than a minute or two.
I know these choices aren't always easy for everyone but those of us who can change our driving habits need to do so. There are simply too many cars traveling too many miles in the valley and we all suffer as a result. Don't hold your breath waiting for the Legislature to do something, please do your part now to clean our air.
