This week's Utah Crowd-Funding project lets backers see themselves in print.
Aneeka Richins' web comic "Not a Villain" tells the story of "a semi-reformed hacker tries to redeem herself in a post-apocalyptic world she may have created," according to Richins' Kickstarter page.
"Not a Villain" has published online twice a week for the last three years. Richins is aiming to print a second volume of the comic in book form, in 144 color pages that employ three different drawing styles for the real world and the two virtual-reality worlds in the story.
Richins, an artist and writer in St. George, is seeking $8,000 for publication. The deadline on her Kickstarter campaign is Nov. 9, and so far she's got $5,713 in pledges, or about 71 percent.
Perks for backers range from a digital wallpaper (for a $1 pledge) to a speaking role in Book 3 (for $700).
