For the first time since resigning as coach midway through the 2011 season, Jerry Sloan is watching practice in an official capacity.

He rejoined the team as an adviser during the summer.

According to Corbin, Sloan "... thinks we're moving in the eight direction. I listen to him. I want to hear his opinion on what we're doing. He's honest about what he sees, [but] he thinks we're doing a lot of things that are helping our young guys grow."

Biedrins 'day to day'

Andris Biedrins stepped on a teammate's foot during practice Monday and sprained his ankle.

X-rays were negative and Corbin said the injury did not appear to be severe.

In his place, expect to see more minutes for rookie Rudy Gobert, who impressed in preseason.
