Letter: Hatred in Washington worries our Canadian neighbors

The Tribune Forum letter of Oct. 29 by one of our Canadian friends Lloyd Creech, "Hating Obama," asks the question: "Is racism the reason that so many Republicans hate President Obama?" I am embarrassed to say the answer is yes, and it is threatening to set racial relations in this country back 50 years.

We receive email from friends in British Columbia every day, and they are very worried about the declining political and social circumstances in the "States."

They have always thought of the United States as their "big brother," and now they see that relationship as very strained and drifting away. Besides the harm our politicians are doing our own country, it seems now we are spreading the gloom to our neighbors.
