Grow Utah Ventures, which helps startup companies launch their businesses, is sponsoring a Mobile App "Concept to Company" contest for all Utah entrepreneurs and developers working on mobile software.

The contest will award the winner $7,500 and two second-place winners $3,750 each. It is co-sponsored by Northfront Business Resource Center and Weber State University/StartUp Ogden.

"Right now, it's much easier but also much more challenging in some regards to launch a mobile app business," T. Craig Bott, president and CEO of Grow Utah Ventures, said in a statement. "Design and code writing are often the easy part, but the user experience, marketing strategy, promotion, and of course the initial funding is what is more difficult. That's where this contest comes in, to help those get further down the road in achieving their dreams."

The application deadline is Nov. 17. To apply and for more information, go to www.ConceptToCompany.org.
