Utah forecast: Nothing spooky for this Halloween forecast

At least, there was nothing spooky about Utah's Halloween forecast, or for that matter the day after young candy-seekers haunted the streets costumed as witches, ghosts and misbehaving celebrities.

The National Weather Service predicted highs in the mid- to upper-50s Thursday and Friday along the Wasatch Front, with overnight lows in the upper 30s under partly cloudy skies.

Southern Utahns expected highs in the 60s to low-70s, overnight lows in the upper-30s to low-40s and clear horizons.

However, a pocket of southeastern Utah, generally encompassing Green River to Moab, began Halloween under a Freeze Warning. Overnight lows in those high desert areas dipped into the 20s.
