Women's volleyball
SLCC def. Colorado Northwestern 25-7, 25-11, 25-12 • Carol Grasso and Bailey Kendall each posted nine kills as Salt Lake Community College (21-6, 9-0 SWAC) clinched its first conference title since 2009.
Men's basketball
SLCC 61, Arizona Western 60 • Don Simmons scored a layup in the final 10 seconds to give the Bruins the lead for good in their season opener at the KollegeTown Classic in Tucson. Simmons led SLCC with 16 points.
Women's basketball
Utah 81, University of Mary 57 • Freshman Emily Potter scored 24 points to lead the Utes to an easy exhibition victory at the Huntsman Center.
Cross country
Utah State • Eric Schellhorn earned all-conference honors with his sixth-place individual finish, leading the Aggies to sixth place at the Mountain West Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo. Schellhorn finished with an 8-kilometer time of 24 minutes, 29.27 seconds.
The USU women took fifth place, with Ashley Robison leading the Ags with a 5-kilometer time of 22:11.96, good enough for 14th place.
