Letter: Anti-Lee protesters loud, disrespectful

I attended a rally for Sen. Mike Lee Saturday, along with hundreds of supporters to thank him for having the courage to stand up for the people who voted him in and, in our opinion, Americans everywhere ("Hundreds chant 'We like Mike' in rally for Lee," Tribune, Nov. 3).

Two individuals disagreed and were holding up signs to that effect. One was a young woman who was screaming at the top of her lungs and shoving families and children out of the way to get to the front of the crowd and yell over Sen. Lee. At one point she ran over a toddler but didn't seem to notice.

The commotion attracted cameras and reporters, rewarding her for her bad behavior by giving her the lions share of attention and an opportunity to get her face and rant in the paper, slanting the event considerably according to her personal political agenda.

She went away smirking, as if she had somehow been elevated to celebrity status. Meanwhile, I was able to have a decent, mutually respectful quiet discussion with another protester elsewhere. Does the Tribune want to be a journalistic newspaper reporting unbiased facts and letting the public decide or just another propaganda machine? I hope you're better than that. I guess we'll see.
